Denny Hamlin held off Kyle Busch on the final restart to win the Royal Purple 200 at Darlington Raceway. Busch managed to pull even with Hamlin to the inside entering Turn 1, but Hamlin used his momentum on the outside to pull ahead of Busch. Over the final five laps, he gradually opened a lead, winning by .625 seconds.

Brad Keselowski was running away from the field in the Bubba Burger 250 at Richmond International Raceway before a late caution closed his large lead. Keselowski took four tires when others took two or stayed out. The decision paid off when he passed Greg Biffle, who took two tires, on the final lap to win the race.

It is a little shocking that JR Motorsports has released Kelly Bires from his contract as driver of the No. 88 Nationwide Series Chevy. But, despite the relatively surprising timing, this was the right move.
Clint Bowyer will replace John Wes Townley in Richard Childress Racing’s No. 21 Chevy in the Nationwide Series’ Bashas’ Supermarkets 200 tonight at Phoenix International Raceway. Townley wrecked about midway through practice. He was able to drive back to the garage, but he is being replaced as a precaution.
