Boris Said survived a spin — and aberration — and edged Max Papis by a nose in a drag race to the finish to win the NAPA Auto Parts 200 at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. The win is Said’s first career victory in the Nationwide Series.

Jimmie Johnson earned his first career Sprint Cup road course win in the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Infineon Raceway after Marcos Ambrose made a mistake under caution in the closing laps, handing Johnson the lead.

Harvick Ends Winless Drought At Talladega

Kevin Harvick, who hung in the back most of the day, broke his 115-race winless streak by beating Jamie McMurray to the finish line by 0.011 seconds in the Aaron’s 499 at Talladega Superspeedway.

Four Teams Penalized For Texas Infractions

NASCAR has penalized Germain Racing’s No. 13 and JTG Daugherty Racing’s No. 47 teams for rule violations at Texas Motor Speedway. The crew chiefs were fined and placed on probation for the rest of the season. The teams each lost 50 owner’s points and 25 driver’s points. Two other teams received fines and probation, as well.

NASCAR Confiscates Parts From Nos. 13, 47

During post-qualifying inspection, NASCAR found problems with the lower radiator pans on Marcos Ambrose’s No. 47 and Max Papis’ No. 13. NASCAR found that the pans were considered unapproved ballast weight mounting, which is a violation of Rule 20-2.3, added car weight. NASCAR said the violations could carry a penalty. Johnson, Kahne Win Photo-Finish Duels

Jimmie Johnson and Kasey Kahne nipped Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart at the line respectively to emerge from the Gatorade Duels victorious. The combined margin of victory was .02 of a second. Johnson beat Harvick by a mere .005, and Kahne beat Stewart by .014.

Logano, Papis, Ragan, and Reutimann Test At Infineon

Joey Logano, Max Papis, David Ragan, and David Reutimann tested at Infineon Raceway Tuesday and Wednesday in late model stock cars, so as not to violate the testing ban at NASCAR tracks.
