Releasing Bires, While Surprising, Was Right Move

It is a little shocking that JR Motorsports has released Kelly Bires from his contract as driver of the No. 88 Nationwide Series Chevy. But, despite the relatively surprising timing, this was the right move.

Suave Men To Sponsor JRM’s No. 88

Suave Men will sponsor JR Motorsports’ No. 88 car and driver Kelly Bires, for two Nationwider Series races this season, the April race at Nashville Superspeedway and the July race at Chicagoland Speedway. The deal, further extends the partnership between JRM and Unilever, Suave’s parent company. Unilever brands, Ragu, and Hellmans, also sponsor the team.

Patrick To Replace Bires In N’Wide Opener

Bires Signs Two-Year Deal With JRM

JR Motorsports has signed Kelly Bires to drive one of its Nationwide Chevys next season, replacing Brad Keselowski, who is leaving to join Penske Championship Racing in Sprint Cup next season. While Bires is Keselowski’s replacement, it has not been decided whether he will run the No. 5 or No. 88.

With the news that Brad Keselowski will be driving for Penske Championship Racing next season, rumors are circulating that JR Motorsports may look at Kelly Bires to replace Keselowski in the No. 88 JRM Chevy next season.
