Layoffs have begun at Richard Petty Motorsports with the team letting go of 47 workers as it shuts down its engine department. After merging with Yates Racing, the team is switching to Fords, and will receive engines from Roush Yates Engines. The team will retain 17 employees to help with engines for the final two races.
