Bob Dilner of SpeedTV is reporting that Pat Tryson, current crew chief of Penske Championship Racing’s No. 2 Dodge, will leave the team at the end of the season to join Michael Waltrip Racing as crew chief for Martin Truex Jr and the No. 56 NAPA Toyota. Gene Nead, the current crew chief of the No. 55 will remain with the team as Michael Waltrip’s crew chief when he switches to a part time schedule in 2010.
