Mayfield Suspended Indefinitely By NASCAR

Jeremy Mayfield, driver and owner of the No. 41 Mayfield Motorsports Inc Toyota, has been suspended indefinitely by NASCAR for violating the substance abuse policy.

NASCAR spokesman Jim Hunter would not indentify which substance Mayfield had in his system, but he did say the offense was not alcohol-related.

Mayfield is the first driver to be suspended under NASCAR’s new substance abuse policy.
