Tony Stewart held off a hard-charging Dale Earnhardt Jr. on the last lap to win the Aaron’s 312 at Talladega Superspeedway, his first at the track and third Nationwide victory this season. Stewart led Junior and Greg Biffle to the green flag on a restart with two laps to go. Coming out of turn 4, Junior layed back, hooking up with Biffle. The two got a run on Stewart, with Biffle pushing Junior into the lead on the backstretch. But, Biffle and Junior couldn’t keep it together, which killed Junior’s momentum.
